NTT Communications Corporation Plans to Buy Two Cloud Computing Companies Based in the United States
Network management, security and solution services provider NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) plans to buy two cloud computing companies based in the United States, a number of reports suggest.

The Japanese company, a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph, intends to purchase Virtela Technology Services Inc., a managed network, security, and cloud services company based in Denver, Colorado. Details regarding NTT Com's second US target are less clear, although a figure of 100 Billion Yen, or US$1 Billion, has been suggested as a combined total for both of NTT Com's intended purchases.

NTT Com policy to solidify its position in the global cloud services arena has been underscored by a number of key purchases. The company owns and manages data centers in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom and has a stated objective of replacing its declining voice services revenue by increasing cloud services income to above 200 Billion Yen (US$2 Billion) by March 2016.
