Online productivity and collaboration services provider
Zoho has increased the number of email accounts it allows users of its free email hosting plan to operate. Whereas originally users could only operate 5 accounts, they can now operate 10. The move is targeting business owners who can use custom domains with the advertising-free accounts. Up to 25 additional accounts are available to users who refer Zoho Mail to other users. Users brought to Zoho Mail through referrals also receive 5 free additional accounts.
Zoho Mail is offered as “Free”, “Standard” or “Premium” editions and can be accessed through mobile devices that use IMAP and POP protocols. It is currently utilized by 10 million users and supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync push email. It also offers robust security features. Email is not tracked in any fashion and includes anti-spam and anti-virus protection. It also provides two-factor authentication.
The Zoho Mail email solution is integrated with the Zoho Mail Suite – a package of productivity and collaboration options such as calendar, contacts, tasks, notes and chat, and document management system Zoho Docs. Each solution in the suite is completely ad-free.
“Free email and ad-free email historically haven’t gone together,” explained company spokesperson, RajuVegesna. “This changes with Zoho Mail. At a time when companies — including the ones with deep pockets — have ended the support of free email service for businesses, we found it even more important to stick to our guns and extend the coverage of our free email plan. There is no catch or fine print here. When we say free and ad-free, we really mean it. At Zoho, we are committed to helping entrepreneurs and small businesses get started by providing an email solution that will grow with them as they expand their business.”
