Open cloud company
Rackspace Hosting has announced that Todd Cione will lead the company’s new Americas Acquisition Sales division. A Baylor University graduate with an English and Business degree, Mr. Cione is an industry veteran with over 20 years in the IT industry. In his last position he spent 15 years at Microsoft and was based in Singapore. He was responsible for the company’s regional cloud, software and enterprise services - business activity that generated annual revenue of $4 billion.
With headquarters in San Antonio, Rackspace is the founder of the OpenStack open-source cloud operating system and a key player in the hybrid cloud arena. The company caters to around 200,000 business customers through a global network of data centers, offering solutions that adapt to customers’ workloads. These solutions could include a public cloud, a private cloud, dedicated servers, or a combination of each, with the OpenStack operating system allowing workloads to move across each platform. Mr. Cione will be responsible for levering direct and channel sales to acquire new Rackspace customers in the Americas.
