Version 3.3 of GigaSpaces Technologies'(GigaSpaces') Cloudify Open Source (OS), multi-cloud orchestration software is now available.
GigaSpaces, whose headquarters are New York, has a presence in San Jose as well as an international presence in Israel, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong and China. The company provides software for pure-play cloud orchestration which allows the “scaling of mission-critical applications on cloud environments”.
GigaSpaces offerings are utilized by “thousands of Tier-1 enterprises, carriers and service providers worldwide” including “e-commerce companies, online gaming providers, healthcare organizations and telecom carriers”. Cloudify 3.3 includes the formal release of the Cloudify Composer visual blueprint builder.
Cloudify 3.3’s new features focus on “production readiness, NFV, and Hybrid Cloud orchestration” and offer enhanced scalability and security alongside improved access control. These features include the ability to establish “thousands of deployments on a single Cloudify manager” as well as enhanced offline installation. The solution provides a “Manager Snapshots” feature that facilitates a full backup functionality that allows users to recover when issues occur or after planned downtime. In addition, it offers “Role-Based Access Control” that enables administrators to “configure which API resources a certain user can access using a pluggable system of roles and permissions”.
“We’re really excited about this release that has improved production and operational stability significantly,” explained GigaSpaces’ Head of Product, Uri Cohen. “Seeing how Cloudify is increasingly being used in enterprise and NFV environments, we have gained a lot of insights about what would make it easier to operate and maintain. On top of this, we’ve rolled out numerous new features and integrations around multi-cloud, containers and NFV orchestration, all while strengthening security to meet our clients’ demands.”
