Open Source Solutions Provider Red Hat Announces Appointment of New Board Chairman
Open Source solutions provider Red Hat, Inc. (Red Hat) has announced the appointment of a new Chairman of its Board of Directors. With headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States, Red Hat was established in 1993. The company created the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system and its services include cloud services and software solutions for business. Narendra (Naren) K. Gupta, Ph.D., a board member since 2005, is now serving as Chairman, replacing H. Hugh Shelton who held the position since 2010.

Mr. Gupta is an industry veteran with 40 years of experience. He is a co-founder of venture capital fund Nexus Venture Partners and currently holds this company’s Managing Director position. He also co-founded software development company Integrated Systems Inc. (ISI) and was its President and CEO until 1994. He was the company’s Chairman until 2000 prior to its merger with Wind River Systems, Inc. He is on the California Institute of Technology’s Board of Trustees and sits on the advisory board of Asia Society Northern California. He is also on the boards of a number of other companies.

Red Hat has already benefited greatly from his broad experience and his contributions as a dedicated member of our board.
