Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and container-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution provider Jelastic
has increased the number of data centers it utilizes and has extended its presence in Asia. Jelastic, which was established in 2010, launched its cloud solution in 2011 and has a presence in the United States, Ukraine, Russia, Australia and Spain. Its platform offers a containerization solution that provides a range of applications alongside automatic vertical and horizontal scaling. Layershift, Jelastic’s partner, has now established Jelastic’s 41st data center in Singapore.
The Jelastic PaaS is a scalable hosting platform designed to facilitate Java, PHP, Ruby, Python, Node.js and Docker-based applications in the cloud. It enables users to automatically scale resources up and down based on their requirements and offers a pricing model based on hourly payments and “actual resource consumption”. Layershift’s new data center sits alongside Jelastic’s other Asian data centers in Japan, Kazakhstan, and India.
Establishing the new data center makes Layershift the first provider to offer Jelastic’s PaaS in Europe, the United States, and in Asia. Layershift is also offering pure Solid-state Drive (SSD) to enhance the level of the service it provides in Southeast Asia.
“The combination of superior support, high performance and active promotion of the product made Layershift one of the fastest growing Jelastic hosting partners,” explained the co-founder and CEO of Jelastic, Ruslan Synytsky. “We received a lot of positive feedback from European and US based customers about Layershift, and glad to announce the expansion of their services to Asia, especially to such actively developing country as Singapore”.
