Parallels Officially Opens Doors In Australia and New Zealand

August 26, 2010
August 26, 2010 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Parallels, the worldwide leader in virtualization and automation software, today announced its official arrival in the Australian and New Zealand market launching its go-to-market strategy for its award-winning virtualization and automation software for business, consumer and cloud/service provider audiences.

With the announcement of its new office comes the appointment of two industry veterans, Neil Morarji as General Manager and Alexei Anisimov as Sales Engineer. Neil will be responsible for driving Parallels’ strong relationship with its cloud services provider partners and two ANZ distributors, Conexus and Software Only, while Alexei will concentrate on providing strategic sales and technical support for customers and partners in ANZ.

Parallels has had a growing presence in Australia and New Zealand through its service provider partners, distributors and retail partners since 2006 and has gained a formidable reputation among businesses, consumers and service providers looking for virtualization and automation solutions that are among the fastest growing in the market.

“We have seen the rapid local adoption of Parallels products over the last four years through our on-the-ground distributors, retail and service provider partners. The decision to open offices in ANZ was a direct result of this success and the identification of potential business in the consumer, business and service provider markets. We have been working closely with our partners to best capitalize on the growing opportunity in ANZ,” said John Eng, Asia-Pacific VP of Marketing and Alliances for Parallels.

“The large majority of businesses in Australia and New Zealand are small-to-medium enterprises in need of high-quality IT services, but lacking the budgets to manage them in-house. Parallels enables SMEs to take advantage of the best technology when they need it and without complexity, so that they can stay focused on business,” said Eng.

The company’s desktop virtualization product for consumers, Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac, enables users to seamlessly run multiple operating systems and applications on their Mac desktops, with enhanced speed and performance.

“With the popularity of Mac computers among consumers and more recently business and SOHO users comes the need for flexibility and compatibility. Increasingly we are seeing the need for users to have the ability to run a Windows OS on their Mac OS for various reasons relating to personal and business use. Parallels consumer products offer the best of all worlds allowing people to use their Windows OS on their Mac OS at the same time without rebooting,” said Eng.

Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac is priced at AU$119 and NZ$149.95. It is available through key retailers including the Apple Store, Harvey Norman, David Jones, Dick Smith Electronics, Myer and Nextbyte. It is also available through major Apple Premium Resellers including MacOne, StreetWise, MacCentric and ComputersNow and online through Harris Technologies and Streetwise Software.
