Peak 10 Expands in South Florida in Response to Demand for Hosting and Cloud Computing

April 17, 2012
April 17, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Peak 10 Inc. has announced the opening of its second enterprise-class facility contiguous with current operations in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 11,000 square-foot addition of premium data center space brings Peak 10 South Florida’s total raised floor footprint to 66,000 square feet. Peak 10 operates nine other technology campuses in the U.S., serving customers around the globe.

“Our team has seen an increasing demand for our consultative approach to delivering rock solid solutions to customers across all industries. We are glad to have our South Florida 2 facility open for business to meet this demand,” said Stefan Pittinger, regional vice president and general manager of Peak 10 South Florida. “Peak 10 provides cloud computing and cloud storage services to a growing number of high-growth companies, making it a business engine for the South Florida region’s economic development and stability. Our new expansion and steady growth are a direct result of these high-growth customers.”

The second South Florida data center is engineered with five-point physical security, uninterruptible power, HVAC systems, fire suppression and around-the-clock monitoring and management. It is interconnected with Peak 10’s private network, providing customers with the advantage of highly available Internet access and the ability to leverage 20 data centers in nine other markets when implementing disaster recovery solutions.

“We remain committed to investing capital and resources in our markets - increasing the total premium data center footprint, as well as advancing our cloud infrastructure solutions, and bolstering delivery and support of our services to maximize the investment that our customers make in Peak 10 as a trusted advisor,” said David Jones, the president and CEO of Peak 10. “During the past year, we have completed significant expansions on the Louisville, Richmond and Nashville campuses and for cloud solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. We will continue to make enhancements to provide the best possible customer experience.”

To ensure an exceptional level of stability and facility integrity, the new South Florida site underwent a formal commissioning process prior to customer installations. Leveraging an industry-leading facilities engineering and IT consulting firm, Peak 10’s data center commissioning is a structured process which establishes the capability and reliability of mission-critical infrastructure. The process includes multiple and repeated test cycles using equipment that simulates how the data center operates at various load levels and during failover conditions.

Customers moving their IT infrastructure into the new South Florida data center will also have the benefit of a customer workspace as part of Peak 10’s Workspace Recovery service. This service enables both start-up and established companies to use the space as a temporary office or to quickly recover from a disaster in an effort to minimize the impact on business operations.
