PHP Applications Company Nexcess Adds New Amsterdam Data Center
PHP applications company Nexcess has added to its “extensive international network” with a new data center facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Nexcess, which was established in 2000, has headquarters in Southfield, Michigan, USA. The company specializes in offering optimized hosting for solutions such as WordPress, vBulletin and ExpressionEngine, with a specific focus on Magento hosting. The company has data centers in the United States, Europe, and Australia, but its new Netherlands-based center will increase the company’s footprint across Europe. Nexcess will offer its full range of services through the new center.

Amsterdam provides the perfect ‘point of presence’ (PoP) for Nexcess. The city is recognized as being one the most connected in the world and, as the facility is close to the Amsterdam Internet Exchange, it “enhances Nexcess’ ability to offer unbeatable low-latency bandwidth throughout the EU and beyond”. In addition, Amsterdam is a hub for startups, entrepreneurs and ecommerce organizations, meaning it offers Nexcess immediate opportunities for expansion.

“We’ve long been impressed by the tech culture and infrastructure Amsterdam offers, and when the time came to expand our European operations, it was the obvious choice,” explained Nexcess’ President and CEO, Chris Wells, of, “The Amsterdam point of presence will enhance our ability to offer best-in-class eCommerce and CMS hosting to one of the world’s busiest and fastest growing online marketplaces.”
