August 22, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) ProperHost.net (http://www.properhost.net) has launched Magento optimized web hosting, it was announced recently. The company is offering a new family of hosting plans powered by Intel Q6600 Quad-Core servers tweaked for Magento eCommerce - an open-source eCommerce solution. The solution offers merchants complete flexibility and control over the look, content, and functionality of their online store. Two plans are available - Basic and Pro, and a free Magento installation is available to each plan.
Due to its robust architecture and extensive feature set, Magento is a quite resource intensive application and may therefore suffer from performance issues when deployed in a regular shared hosting environment, explained ProperHost.nets Director, Sindre Moe. By placing only a small number of clients on each server, we have been able to provide a premium service to Magento store owners at the fraction of the cost of a dedicated server. Independent tests have shown a significant performance boost using our optimized solution, compared to many of our competitors.
Established in 2004, ProperHost.net offers web hosting and domain registration services to a global customer base. The company began web hosting for Magento in August 2008.
