Cision Ltd. (Cision) has acquired social media Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform provider Falcon.io. Cision, which has headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, United States, was established in 1867. The company bills itself as a “leading global provider of earned media management software and insights to public relations and marketing communications professionals”. With more than 4,000 employees in 15 countries, it provides software solutions that enable users to target influencers and distribute and track content. Cision’s acquisition of Falcon.io adds a range of capabilities to its portfolio.
Falcon.io, which has headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, was established in 2010. The company’s offerings enable users to engage social media and publish and manage customer data. It has partnerships with major social network players like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and provides a single platform solution that allows customers to manage their digital marketing efforts. It has offices in Denmark, the United States, Germany, Australia, Romania and Bulgaria. Financial aspects of the deal were not released, but by acquiring Falcon.io Cision strengthens its position as a leader in the earned media management arena.

Falcon.io will round out our vision for holistic earned media management that includes not only engagement on broadcast, print, and open web/mobile media channels, but social media as well."
