CIM Group, L.P. (CIM Group) has acquired a data center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States. With global headquarters in Los Angeles, California, United States, was established in 1994. The company specializes in owning and operating a variety of real estate and infrastructure properties and providing financial services. The acquisition of the data center was made in conjunction with fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty (1547) – the managing partner of the ownership company that originally developed and sold the data center. Financial aspects of the deal were not released. This is the third data center CIM Group and 1547 have acquired in partnership.
1547 has headquarters in Matawan, New Jersey, United States and was established in 2010. The company is a developer and operator of data centers and has more than 800,000 square feet of data center capacity around the United States and Canada. Together the two companies acquired the 340 Progress Circle facility – a single-tenant data center with a 42,000 square-foot capacity. The facility has a number of benefits from its Cheyenne location. Home to data centers owned by Microsoft, the National Weather Service’s computing center, and Echostar/Dish, Cheyenne offers a high-bandwidth fiber network alongside low-cost power and tax incentives. The area is also relatively free of natural disasters.
“The data center in Cheyenne combines high-quality infrastructure with low-cost power and high-capacity fiber and continues the partnership’s goal of acquiring and developing premier datacenter assets in or adjacent to population centers to serve the growing data needs of businesses,” explained 1547’s CEO, J. Todd Raymond.
