RegisterFly's Registrar Accreditation Agreement Terminated

March 19, 2007
March 19, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – ICANN has terminated RegisterFly.com's Registration Accreditation Agreement (RAA), it was announced this week. ICANN has written to RegisterFly informing the company that after March 31, 2007 it will no longer be an ICANN-Accredited registrar, providing the required 15 days notice of termination.

As a result of the termination, RegisterFly is required to provide ICANN with its database and all necessary “Authinfo” codes. ICANN will then approve a “bulk transfer” of all current RegisterFly domain names to another accredited registrar.

"Terminating accreditation is the strongest measure ICANN is able to take against RegisterFly under its powers," suggested ICANN’s CEO and President, Dr. Paul Twomey. ICANN will have a key meeting in Lisbon March 26-30, 2007 where it will discuss reform of its current accreditation policy.
