Progress Software Corporation will make a number of organizational changes designed to help the company grow and enhance customer experience. From September 1, 2014, the company will establish three specific business units - OpenEdge, Application Development and Deployment, and Data Connectivity and Integration.
Each of the company's new divisions will have its own sales teams and be responsible for its own product management and marketing. The move will allow the company to meet the requirements of each division's specific markets.
Jerry Rulli will be in charge of the OpenEdge business unit. With 3 decades of experience he is a relatively new recruit to Progress and joined the company from Infor where he managed sales and professional services functions. Under Rulli the unit will cater to the company's partners by providing a means to integrate cloud-based applications through the company's future Pacific platform and Modulus.
Under the leadership of former Chief Technology Officer Karen Tegan Padir, the Application Development and Deployment business unit will address new customers of the company's Pacific Platform application development assets, including Rollbase and Mobility, Corticon and Modulus.
Led by Michael Benedict, who formerly headed the company’s PaaS and application development businesses, the Data Connectivity and Integration business unit will address the organizations' data access and data integration challenges.
“Aligning our organization with our core markets enables us to better serve not only the partners, developers and customers in those markets but also more nimbly react to take advantage of market changes and demands,” explained the CEO of Progress, Phil Pead in a statement.
