SaaS Content Management Platform Provider WP Engine Announces ‘WP Engine Search’ Alpha Project
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) content management platform provider WP Engine has announced the "Alpha" project of ‘WP Engine Search’. Established in 2010 and with headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA, and premises in San Francisco, San Antonio, Texas and London, the company specializes in providing support for WordPress, a highly utilized Open Source (OS) Content Management System (CMS) for developing websites and blogs. Its WP Engine platform is optimized to manage WordPress and ensure WordPress sites operate as efficiently as possible. WP Engine Search is designed to provide "real-time, highly accurate search results for a unique, contextual WordPress experience". The solution allows WP Engine-hosted websites to offer "more accurate search capabilities".

“WP Engine Search enables WordPress website owners to build powerful, customized search experiences that rival the capabilities of today’s leading search engines and to transform their users’ experiences,” explained WP Engine's Co-founder and CTO, Jason Cohen. “Coming off the heels of GeoIP and the HHVM Mercury Platform, WP Engine Search is testament to the open source innovation conducted at WP Engine Labs, which is constantly bringing to market new products and features applicable to the entire WordPress community.”

WP Engine Search provides data more quickly and accurately than the third-party plugins traditionally utilized for search. It offers a reduced database server load through a real-time search functionality that does not require a "full-text database scan for every search operation". It also offers autosuggest results and a feature called "Fuzzymatching" alongside "autosuggestions for close queries, related content and matching for misspelled terms". The solution also offers a considerable improvement on the typical WordPress user search experience as well as a "Related Posts" feature that finds relevant information on individual websites.
