Security Software Company McAfee Extends Cloud Security Platform to Protect Microsoft Azure
Security software company McAfee LLC (McAfee) has extended its cloud security platform to protect Microsoft Azure. Established in 1987, McAfee has headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States. Founded by John McAfee, it one of the Internet’s pioneer companies and globally recognized as protecting PCs from a range of cyberthreats. The company was in the news at the end of last year for its acquisition of Skyhigh Networks. By bringing its cloud security platform to Microsoft Azure, McAfee “extends security capabilities to counter cloud migration threats”’.

McAfee offers a full suite of cloud security solutions that include McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud, McAfee Virtual Network Security Platform (vNSP) and McAfee Cloud Workload Security (McAfee CWS). An Azure version of McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud is now also available. McAfee’s new offerings allow organizations to measure and audit Microsoft Azure’s security configuration settings of against industry best practices. The solutions also create a full record of user and administrator activity and detects a range of “insider threats”. Malware is also removed and “unauthorized sensitive data” is stopped from being stored in Azure storage services. This is the first joint security solution McAfee and Skyhigh Networks have completed since Skyhigh Networks was acquired.

“Moving applications, data and workloads to the cloud exposes enterprises to new threats and risks,” explained McAfee’s Cloud Security Business Unit’s Senior Vice President, Rajiv Gupta. “At the same time, the adoption of cloud allows organizations to transform their business. This is why we are on a mission to make cloud the most secure environment for business. The introduction of McAfee Cloud Security Platform for Microsoft Azure is an important step to fulfilling this mission for our customers.”
