November 18, 2005 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Singaporean web hosting company ‘8 to Infinity’ has announced that it will offer SQL 2005 Express. The additional feature is offered at a nominal charge and will become a standard feature of the company’s new Windows virtual server offerings. SQL 2005 Express is also offered as an option with dedicated servers.
The company expects a solid sign up to its new option as many of the developers 8 to Infinity caters for expressed a wish to convert to an ASP Dot Net 2.0 and SQL 2005 combination.
Discussing the move, 8 to Infinity’s Chief Technical Officer Lim Boon Chuan suggested, "The recent release of ASP Dot Net 2.0 allows for much greater power and flexibility for our Windows users. Together with SQL 2005 Express, this combination allows for glueless integration and cut down the time needed to go from drawing board to production. As our company has been following the development of ASP Dot Net 2.0 and SQL 2005 Express closely, we are able to be one of the first, if not the first in Singapore to offer such support."
