Targeting web hosting companies, ISPs, and small businesses, version 4.0 of SmarterMail offers a range of integrated features including ClamAV virus protection and SpamAssassin spam blocking.
SmarterTools email solution has been developed using AJAX technology. Users are able to shape its look and feel using a choice of three interface skins, one of which “was designed to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft’s new Vista desktop”. The system also enables users to custom design skins.
SmarterMail 4.0 includes a new web-based dashboard and enhanced reporting tools to help System Administrators. The new version also benefits from easier installation and operation and improved load balancing/gateway management.
The solution builds on previous collaboration features including shared contacts, tasks, folders, and calendaring, and introduces a new feature - shared notes. An updated version of SmarterMail Sync is available to Enterprise Edition users free of charge. This enables synchronization with Outlook and many Pocket PC features.
