Software Company Greenqloud Decommissions Public Cloud Services
Software company Greenqloud has decommissioned its public cloud services. The company, which was established in 2010, has headquarters in Reykjavík, Iceland. It specialized in providing “comprehensive cloud infrastructure solutions” for private, public or hybrid clouds and was the “world’s first company to offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) powered by data centers using 100% renewable energy”. Greenqloud has “now chosen a different path to the end goal” and has now fully transitioned from being a public cloud provider to a cloud software provider.

The company’s experience in multi-tenancy cloud platforms has led to the development of Qstack, the company’s flagship software solution. Qstack is a cloud management platform that leverages Greenqloud’s proprietary software and Open Source solutions to enable businesses to deploy private, public or hybrid cloud that meet “the strictest security standards” and allows service providers to offer their own public cloud services.

“As of October 1st, 2015, Greenqloud’s Compute Qloud™ and Storage Qloud™ services have been decommissioned and are no longer available,” suggests a statement on the company’s website, which also suggested all instances of the public cloud will be destroyed. “We sincerely thank you for being a Greenqloud public cloud customer, and hope to continue providing you with innovative solutions, whether directly with Qstack, our infrastructure management solution, or via our partners.”
