South African web host
Hetzner SA has rebranded and is now called xneelo (Pty) Ltd. (Xneelo). Hetzner SA was established in 1999, and under the Xneelo brand remains a “leading player in the South African web hosting environment”. The company has headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa and caters to more than 50,000 customers globally. It bills itself as ‘Trusted in Hosting’ and provides “reliable and consistent” web hosting services that focus on infrastructure stability, value and consistency.
Xneelo specializes in a range of areas including shared, WordPress and colocation rack hosting. The company also offers managed and self-managed dedicated servers. Its rebranding comes as a means of identifying itself as a separate entity to ‘Hetzner Online’ - a “professional web hosting provider and experienced data center operator” with headquarters in Gunzenhausen, Bavaria, Germany.
Aside from a new name, logo and website, Xneelo still offers the same quality offerings and “exceptional customer service” Hetzner SA was renowned for. The relaunch as Xneelo sees the company maintain data centers in Gauteng and Cape Town and will see it “launch into new markets with tailored web hosting services”. The Xneelo rebranding was a precursor to global expansion and the company now boasts a presence in Canada.
“The name xneelo is inspired by a Latin phrase that translates into the ability to ‘create something out of nothing’,” explained the company’s Linkedin page. “We believe that our new name speaks to the resourcefulness, ingenuity and industrious spirit of our customers - and of our team. We’re excited about our ongoing journey and our daily endeavour to remain Trusted in Hosting,” the page suggests.
