September 18, 2012 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Following the launch of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition (
i2Coalition) this week, email security provider
SpamExperts has announced its position as a founding member of the initiative.
Comprising 41 companies, the association represents internet infrastructure providers from around the globe and was launched by co0founder Christian Dawson through a video highlighting its mission and goals.
Gradually establishing itself since 2011, the organization is aiming to support enterprises that make significant private investments and drive innovation for the "nuts and bolts" of the Internet.
Included in this bracket are web hosting providers, registrars and cloud computing services, and many other businesses that the organization aims to support.
Speaking on SpamExperts position within the i2Coalition was Sam Renkema, CEO of the Amsterdam-based company, who said: "We are proud to be among the founders who are bringing this association into being."
"We have decided to join as the internet industry is not geographically bounded and international market standards should be reached and implemented."
According to the organization, its member share the common goal "to be the principle voice and leading advocate for the Internet infrastructure industry." This follows the forming of the company, which came through the joining of forces within the industry to prevent the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) from becoming laws.
Renkema continued: "We strongly believe that by being part of the i2Coalition founding members and Advisory Council, as well as being involved in the international policy subcommittee will give us the tools to make our voice heard and contribute to settling legislation and norms which will generate a meaningful positive impact at a global level."
