Storage and Information Management Company Iron Mountain Partner’s with Cloud Company EMC
Storage and information management company Iron Mountain Inc. (Iron Mountain) has partnered with cloud company EMC Corporation (EMC). Iron Mountain, which has headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, was established in 1951. The company operates in 36 countries and offers solutions for records management, data management, document management, and secure shredding. It has previously been involved in the cloud, but abandoned cloud activity five years ago. Its partnership with EMC sees Iron Mountain return to its interest in the cloud.

EMC, which has headquarters in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, United States, was acquired by Dell for a record $67 billion last year. The company specializes in technologies and tools that can help its customers “release the power” of their information. EMC designs, builds, and manages “flexible, scalable, and secure information infrastructures” on behalf of its customers so they might “intelligently and efficiently store, protect, and manage” their information. Alongside the partnership, Iron Mountain has launched a new product called ‘Cloud Archive’.

Cloud Archive leverages EMC’s hardware and software to provide effective storage for enterprise customers’ data. Cloud Archive will allow data to be stored in a data center located in a former mine in Boyers, Pennsylvania, United States. Cloud Archive also offers a backup system in Kansas City, Kansas, United States.
