Technology Solutions Provider CDW Acquires Canadian Provider Scalar
Technology solutions provider and Fortune 500 company CDW has acquired Canadian provider Scalar Decisions Inc. (Scalar). CDW, which has headquarters in Vernon Hills, Illinois, United States, was established in 1984. The company offers “multi-brand” solutions to a broad customer base that includes businesses, healthcare organizations, government bodies and educational institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. Its acquisition of Scalar strengthens its presence in Canada (CDW Canada) by enhancing its technical capabilities and expertise.

Scalar is a ServiceNow solutions provider. ServiceNow, which has headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States, was established in 2004. Its products and services include IT, security,
HR and customer service solutions. Scalar, which has headquarters in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, was established in 2004. The company bills itself as “Canada’s leading IT solution provider” and specializes in security, infrastructure, and cloud offerings. It has offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Victoria, Canada, and employs around 350 people. Its 2018 sales revenue was C$250 million (US$188 million). Financial aspects of the deal were not released.

“Helping customers optimize the value of their IT investments is core to our mission,” explained CDW’s CEAO Chris Leahy on the company’s website. “This strategic acquisition extends our CDW Canada solutions and services portfolio, extends our in-market presence across Canada and enhances the value that we can deliver to our customers.”
