Telecom Services and Cloud Provider Cosmote Partners with Microsoft Azure
Telecom services and cloud provider Cosmote Mobile Telecommunications A.E. (Cosmote) has partnered with Microsoft to leverage its Azure cloud solutions. Part of the OTE Group, Cosmote has headquarters in Athens, Greece. The company provides a range of OTE Group services including “fixed, mobile, Internet and pay-TV products and services, as well as ICT solutions”.

The Greek provider’s partnership with Microsoft is a result of the latter’s strategic partnership with German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom Group. These two companies joined forces to stimulate demand for Azure cloud-based products across Europe. An extension to its already comprehensive suite of offerings, Cosmote’s latest options will include Dynamics 365 and Office 365. These services will be offered to customers that include businesses of a range of sizes.

As a result of the partnership, Cosmote will offer cloud products designed to give businesses the flexibility they need to compete in the European business environment. Cosmote suggests its cloud offerings help “reduce IT operating costs by up to 50%” when compared to on-premise software solutions. The company will offer customers a seamless transition to the cloud, and its new services can be complemented by Microsoft's security products.
