September 25, 2007
September 25, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Telecoms and Internet Service Providers are becoming important players in the web hosting industry and are utilizing SWsoft (http://www.swsoft.com) solutions to meet their business goals, it was reported yesterday.

KPN in The Netherlands, Swisscom, Telecom Italia, STA (Andorra Telecom), Portugal Telecom and Togo Telecom are all examples of telecoms using SWsoft products to provide web hosting and software as a service (SaaS) services to their customers.

"Telecoms and Internet service providers are increasingly becoming important players in the hosting business," explained SWsoft’s European and Asian operations Managing Director, Soeren von Varchmin. "Many of these carriers were more recent entrants to the hosting market, but by employing new advanced technologies from SWsoft, hosting services and SaaS applications are easier to roll out on a larger scale."

According to SWsoft, telecoms “use SWsoft products to reduce the number of calls to customer service for routine tasks such as buying more disk space, adding email accounts, installing sub-domains and installing new applications”. The company provides a “complete line of products - hosting control panels, provisioning systems, billing systems, customized datacenter management tools - that provide telecom carriers with the solutions they need to profitably launch hosting services and SaaS applications”.

SWsoft software can be found on more than 130,000 servers and 600,000 desktops worldwide. Its products include Virtuozzo, an operating system virtualization solution, Parallels, a desktop virtualization product, and Plesk, a server control panel. The company was founded in 1999 and has offices in North America, Europe, and Asia.
