The Host Group Inc. (THG) acquired the web hosting division of Tampa, FL based Long Bay Communications on August 23, 2000. THG, looking to increase its share of the web hosting market in Florida, purchased the division as well as TampaUS.com, a Tampa, FL community web site. The move puts THG in place to take a larger share of a growing Internet market in Florida.
THG plans to keep the LBC operations running as it has been, with major improvements planned for technical and customer support, as well as strategic marketing efforts in Tampa, FL to be carried out later in the year.
THG is a privately owned fiber optic web hosting company that has been in business since 1998. They specialize in web hosting services. Their clientele stretches throughout the world in countries such as: Hong Kong, Malaysia, US, Cyprus and others.
LBC is a Tampa, Florida based Internet design and web hosting company born out of 28 years of publishing books, magazines and newspapers. LBC had their first Internet site go live in 1986 with the simultaneous publication of a bi-weekly newspaper in Myrtle Beach, and South Carolina on a bulletin board system.
