ThinkGrid Appoints VADIS Systems to Take Cloud Computing to The Australian Market

November 26, 2009
November 26, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – ThinkGrid, a leading platform provider enabling IT services from the cloud, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with VADIS Systems to offer resellers the opportunity to sell high-quality and flexible cloud computing services. Resellers will now be able to offer their customers a range of services including Hosted Virtual Desktop, Exchange and Communications, VoIP, Software-as-a-Service, Virtual Server Infrastructure and Cloud Storage. With the increasing adoption of cloud computing services in Australia over the last twelve months, VADIS Systems will assist resellers to take the ThinkGrid offering to the 1.8 million Australian small businesses.

“With cloud computing services topping Gartner's list of ‘Top 10 strategic technologies for 2010’ and worldwide spending expected to grow almost threefold, reaching US$42 billion by 2012, cloud computing is no longer just a ‘buzzword’ in Australia. We are at a tipping point where resellers know they need to embrace cloud computing, but they don’t want to have to build their own infrastructure due to the cost and complexity involved. ThinkGrid’s IT services from the cloud platform combined with our value added distribution model, will enable resellers to offer a full range of cloud computing services without the risk,” said Gerry Tucker, VADIS Systems Sales and Marketing Director.

Channel partners will be able to white-label or resell ThinkGrid’s portfolio of cloud services and package these alongside their existing offerings. VADIS Systems will work with its partners to assist them in taking ThinkGrid’s cloud offerings to their customer base. Partners can also utilise ThinkGrid’s billing and provisioning engine, which allows them to buy at a wholesale rate and then tailor cloud services to specific customer needs. Ultimately, ThinkGrid is providing a platform for resellers to engage in cloud computing without the traditional barriers to entry of offering a services proposition. Resellers continue to own the customer relationship while ThinkGrid and VADIS Systems work together in the background. This ensures service levels and customer confidence is maintained. VADIS Systems and ThinkGrid will be offering resellers training programmes, sales collateral, joint marketing and qualified leads.

“Working with VADIS Systems will really help us to gain traction in the Australian market. The team knows how to take leading edge disruptive technology to market, and ensure that everyone gets value. Our offering has already received some great feedback from end-user customers. SMEs in particular have really embraced the ability to get enterprise class IT infrastructure and applications at a fraction of the previous cost. Customers no longer need to make upfront CapEx investment in expensive hardware, software and support, and instead can move all IT costs to an easy-to-manage, monthly operational expense,” said David Pratt, COO, ThinkGrid.

VADIS Systems has three focus areas for its business, Virtualisation & Cloud Computing, Networking and Security. The partnership with ThinkGrid therefore complements its portfolio by ensuring resellers have the ability to provide customers with a complete end to end IT solution.

“We chose ThinkGrid as our cloud computing partner as it is significantly ahead of the competition. Something that really differentiates ThinkGrid is the physical data centres it has in Australia. This shows the company’s commitment to the market, and also reassures Australians who want to be certain their data is stored in Australia,” Mr. Tucker concluded.
