April 24, 2008
April 24, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – TippingPoint, a provider of intrusion prevention solutions, has partnered with web host and domain name provider Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com), it was announced yesterday. Go Daddy will provide TippingPoint with SSL certificates. According to Go Daddy, the move “underscores each company’s commitment to safeguarding data and combating cyber crime through the implementation of the most stringent security standards”.

“Both TippingPoint and GoDaddy.com know network security is of paramount importance,” explained James Hamilton, President of TippingPoint. “The combination of product, price and service made GoDaddy.com SSL certificates an obvious choice for our networks.”

SSL certificates enable encrypted connections between servers and web browsers, helping protect Internet users from issues such as identity theft. They are typically used to stop hackers accessing credit card information during online transactions. Go Daddy is now the world’s second largest certification authority.

“GoDaddy.com’s SSL Certs provide IT administrators an easy and cost effective way to protect their networks,” explained Bob Parsons, CEO & Founder of Go Daddy. “It just makes sense for a company as committed to online security as TippingPoint to recognize the advantage – our customers get the same functionality, stringent vetting standards and reliability as any other cert in the industry. The difference is GoDaddy.com SSL certs cost a fraction of the price.”
