TLD Registry Radix Announces .Host Launch Schedule
Top-level domain (gTLD) registry Radix has announced the launch schedule for domains with the “.Host” suffix. Focusing on global web hosting-related companies, including cloud companies and industry forums, “.Host” domains have already experienced a significant level of interest and Radix is anticipating “successful early adoption”.

The launch is set against a backdrop of the HostingCon event in Miami. This is the industry’s largest gathering and Radix will be an event sponsor. The launch has begun with the “Pioneer Program” which leads into a 60-day “Sunrise” period beginning June 24, 2014. During this period industry players can register domains for registered trademarks. A “landrush” where domains are available to the general public will begin 26 August, 2014 and where domains are registered by a number of parties, they will be auctioned.

“The early interest illustrates a passion for the .host extension in the Web community,” explained RADIX’s Business Head, Sandeep Ramchandani. “There’s a lot of excitement on our end, too. We’re looking forward to working with members of the hosting industry who will set inspiring examples and make a mark as pioneers of the community’s own namespace.”
