November 7, 2008 (HOSTSEARCH.COM) UK-based web host and domain name registrar UK2 Group (http://www.uk2.net) has acquired web host WestHost.com, it was announced recently. UK2, a major player in the hosting industry since the late nineties, acquired Utah-based WestHost.com as the final part of growth-by-acquisition program designed to establish the company in the US hosting market. WestHosts data center in Salt Lake City and offices in Logan, Utah will continue to operate and UK2 Group will retain all key personnel.
Ive followed WestHost for years, and I have always been impressed with their quality of service, respect for their clients and great offerings, explained UK2s Ditlev Bredahl. I want to assure all WestHost clients that they are not going to see any changes in that kind of personal service. Were keeping the data center in Utah open, because a local presence is important, and were keeping the excellent staff there.
I assure all our loyal WestHost clients that our team will continue to provide the same high level of service they have grown to expect, added WestHosts General Manager, Brian Chambers. There are no plans to move our support department, or to change the people we already have in place. Quality of service and excellent staff are what WestHost is known for. We are excited about the transition and look forward to many more years of serving our growing client base.
UK2 Group operates under a number of brands including UK2.net, US2.net, midPhase Services, AN Hosting, Autica and Resell.biz. The group is accredited by ICANN and provides .com, .biz, .info, .net, .org, .jobs, .name and .pro gTLD's to its clients.
