US Data Center and Interconnection Solutions Provider CoreSite Announces VMware Cloud Availability on AWS
US data center and interconnection solutions provider CoreSite Realty Corporation (CoreSite) has announced VMware cloud availability on Amazon Web Services (AWS). CoreSite, an AWS Advanced Technology Partner, has headquarters in Denver, Colorado, United States and offers ‘high-performance’ data center and interconnection solutions to customers across the United States. Established in 2001, the company operates seven data centers in Silicon Valley and its services extend to collocation and Multi-tenant Data Center (MTDC) services. The company’s latest move “enables enterprise-grade direct connectivity between VMware and AWS”.

The availability of VMware Cloud on AWS combines VMware’s “Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software” and AWS’ “elastic, bare-metal infrastructure”. It gives businesses a “consistent operating model and application mobility across private and public cloud resources”. VMware Cloud on AWS connectivity is available through the ‘CoreSite Open Cloud Exchange’ which is located in Boston, Massachusetts, Denver, Colorado, New York and Northern Virginia in the United States.

“We are excited to be one of the first data center providers to offer our customers access to VMware Cloud on AWS, enabling secure and flexible cloud connectivity that can scale with their business demands”, explained CoreSite’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Steve Smith. “As a trusted provider of AWS Direct Connect since 2011, and an Amazon Partner Network (APN) Technology partner, we are pleased to expand the solutions we provide our customers by partnering with VMware.”
