US Multinational Oracle Enhances Oracle Cloud Platform
US multinational Oracle has enhanced its Oracle Cloud Platform. With headquarters in San Mateo, California, United States, Oracle offers integrated cloud applications and platform services including MySQL and Oracle NoSQL database solutions, ‘Big Data’ options, and applications for areas such as supply chain management. The company acquired NetSuite in November 2016 at a cost of $9.3 billion. Its enhancement of the Oracle Cloud Platform will “help more organizations build and deploy high-performance applications” in the cloud.

The Oracle Database Cloud Service is ideal for enterprise workloads both on virtualized and high performance bare metal compute servers. Oracle’s enhancements to the service are aimed at making it even more attractive for businesses to move business-critical applications to the cloud through a “broader array of IaaS options”. It has made a “bare metal compute” Oracle Database Cloud Service available, and is also offering new Virtual Machine (VM) compute, load balancing, and storage capabilities on an IaaS platform.

"These latest investments in the Oracle Cloud Platform provide a clear path to develop, test, and scale applications – with the Oracle Database or third-party databases”, explained Oracle President, Product Development, Thomas Kurian. “We offer customers the most comprehensive approach to moving to the cloud and accelerating their business strategies," "Oracle provides the broadest and strongest choice of relational database cloud services that are 100 percent compatible with applications deployed on-premises, making it easy for customers to seamlessly move enterprise workloads to the cloud."
