Virtual Private Server (VPS) provider
Linode LLC (Linode) has completed the addition of its third office in Philadelphia, United States. Linode, which was founded in 2003, has its headquarters in Galloway Township, New Jersey, United States. The company specializes in providing Solid State Drive (SSD) servers in the ‘Linode Cloud’ and its services extend to providing backups and load balancing. The company also has operations in Haddonfield in New Jersey which will be unaffected by the completion of the new premises. Workers at its New Jersey operations will have the option to move to the new Philadelphia office.
Linode’s new 14,500-square-foot premises are located in a historic building named ‘Old City’ and cost the company $5 million. The company’s need to open a new office in Philadelphia is reflective of the demand for its cloud computing services – it generated increased revenues in 2014/2015 by supplying new data centers to the Singapore and German markets.
“Our team is elated to be joining this community of innovative, talented, visionary nerds,” explained a press on the Linode website in December 2015. “This is exactly the kind of neighbourhood a company like Linode is going to thrive in, and I think our Linodians are going to contribute tremendously to the culture on N3RD Street, which is already occupied by other great tech organisations like Devnuts, Seer, Indy Hall and WebLinc.” A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in 2016.
