VMware-based Cloud Provider Cloud Carib Announces OnApp Deployment
VMware-based cloud provider Cloud Carib has announced its deployment of OnApp. The company, which is based in Nassau, Bahamas, offers a range of “cutting-edge” private, public, and hybrid cloud solutions. It specializes in providing offshore cloud hosting from Bahamas-based data centers to customers that include “financial services enterprises, professional services companies and government agencies”.

Cloud Carib’s adoption of OnApp is a response to its need to “reduce customer onboarding time” by 50% through the replacement of the native VMware user interface. The migration allows the company to offer customers the latest VMware vCloud Director features and simplifies user experience. With OnApp as the front end to its vCloud-based services, Cloud Carib is able to offer a greater number of services available through the OnApp Federation global network of clouds.

“A lot of customers struggle to get to grips with the native VMware interface, so we’d spend a great deal of time helping them learn how to manage their cloud service,” explained Cloud Carib’s Director, Stelios Xeroudakis. “OnApp has enabled us to cut our onboarding time in half. OnApp is intuitive and very robust. It’s highly extensible and was easy to integrate with our statistics database, backup and disaster recovery solutions, billing and customer support systems. OnApp’s portal stood well above the rest in terms of stability, maturity and ease of use - plus, OnApp’s subscription based model is very cost-effective. We are looking forward to becoming part of the OnApp Federation,” he added.
