Web and Cloud Hosting Provider Media Temple Launches New Shared Hosting Options
Web and cloud hosting provider Media Temple has launched new shared hosting options. The company, which has headquarters in Los Angeles, California, USA, was established in 1998. It caters to “web developers, designers, and creative agencies” and businesses in around 100 countries. Its services manage around 1.5 million websites including those for major brands like “Red Bull, Nike, Diesel and Under Armour”. Media Temple employs around 230 in the United States. Its new shared hosting platform, “Grid”, offers a wealth of benefits not normal attributed to traditional shared hosting accounts.

Grid offers Solid State Drive (SSD) for storage and databases and is a “robust managed shared hosting solution” that is underpinned by a unique clustered architecture that permits scalable bandwidth and “auto-burst” options to manage traffic spikes. The hosting offers “increased reliability and extra speed” and the company is targeting “web designers, developers, small and medium agencies” with three new plans: Grid Pro, Grid Agency and Grid Agency+. The packages start at $30 per month for Grid Pro, which offers 20GB SSD storage, 1TB bandwidth and 10 sites. Alongside these options Media Temple is offering “Booster Packs” which allows users to enhance server resources without changing plans. Plans boast an improved, user-friendly control panel and a file manager that allows users to “quickly upload, edit and organize their files and folders”. Accounts also offer a one-click installer which installs and manages applications.

“We’ve taken one of the industry’s most robust shared hosting platforms and made it even more powerful by re-designing it to be easier to use, more reliable, faster and managed,” explained Media Temple’s Vice Presedent of Product, Brian Kuhn. “Our new managed shared hosting solution is set up for continuous 24/7 operation, ensuring that no traffic bursts impact our customers’ websites/apps while also enabling them to securely scale up resources as they grow their business.”
