Media Temple has enhanced its managed WordPress hosting options. Media Temple, which has headquarters in Los Angeles, California, was established in 1998. The company has some 125,000 customers globally and offers a wide range of web and cloud hosting services. Its WordPress plans now provide “enhanced features and functionality”.
WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS) used to build Internet websites - it currently underpins around 25% of all sites. An Open Source (OS) solution, it is available as a free download and benefits from the support of a global community that develops addons and themes that enable users to change how a website operates and how it looks. Media Temple has optimized its platform to offer WordPress users “high performance and rendering speed”.
Media Temple provides four managed WordPress hosting plans – ‘Personal’, ‘Pro’, ‘Elite’ and a new ‘Extended’ plan. The plans offer automatic core and security updates and provide a “one-click restore” of site backups taken over the previous 30 days. The Personal and Pro plans now offer increased SSD storage. The Personal plan offers 50GB of storage (up from 30GB) and the Pro plan 200GB (up from 100GB). The company’s Elite plan offers SiteLock’s TrueSpeed CDN available free of charge. Plans start at $20 per month (Personal).
