Web Host and Cloud Services Provider GoDaddy to Acquire Social Media Engagement Specialist Main Street Hub
Web host and cloud services provider GoDaddy has announced its intention to acquire social media engagement specialist Main Street Hub. With its global head office in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, GoDaddy is a globally recognized brand that caters to smaller business by providing the tools and hosting required to establish a valid internet presence. Established in 1997, the company offers a very broad range of services, including web hosting and WordPress hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated servers, and domain name registration. It also offers wed design services and security options alongside email hosting. With a strong underlying philosophy of localization, the company has a presence in many parts of the world. Its acquisition of Main Street Hub will cost GoDaddy $125 million, which will be paid in cash alongside up to $50 million in future earnings.

Main Street Hub has headquarters in Austin, Texas, United States. Established in 2010, the company offers a number of services, including social media marketing, online reputation management, email marketing, and mobile services. It offers a marketing platform for businesses that integrates “social media, customer reviews, and email marketing to help businesses get more customers and keep them coming back”. The company has around 600 staff and caters to around 10,000 customers across the United States. GoDaddy’s acquisition of the company will be finalized before the end of June 2018. It underscores GoDaddy’s strategy of providing services for smaller business. The company will offer customers Main Street Hub’s suite of "do-it-for-me" services that fully complement GoDaddy’s small business focus.

"GoDaddy's 17 million small business customers come to us because they know their online presence can help them reach their customers and grow their businesses, but even with the right tools, customers struggle to find the time or know-how to effectively manage their social media presence,” explained GoDaddy’s Senior Vice President of Presence and Commerce, Lauren Antonoff. “Joining forces with Main Street Hub better enables us to help our customers reach their goals, while saving them time and offering peace of mind."
