GoDaddy has seen substantial growth in India. The company, which opened a Customer Care Center in Hyderabad, has seen an 86% growth in its customer base across the subcontinent and managed around 250,000 local customer enquiries over the last year.
With headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, GoDaddy is recognized as one of the world's leading hosting and domain registration providers. Marketing campaigns that include risqué Super Bowl commercials featuring the likes of female Indy racer Danica Patrick have made the company an instantly recognizable brand both throughout the United States and abroad. The company caters to 12 million customers worldwide and as in the United States, GoDaddy's activity in India has focused on SMEs.
GoDaddy started offering domain names with the '.IN' ccTLD in January 2009 and established "full-scale operations" in India in 2012. It manages a reseller network which allows third parties to receive commissions on the resale of GoDaddy products and services. This area of the company's activity in India has grown 88% over the last year - growth that was spurred by a number of atypical marketing campaigns. These included its "Cup of Coffee" campaign which involved GoDaddy staff actual visiting companies' premises to give them a hands-on insight into how easy it can be for small businesses to establish an Internet presence.
