Web Host and Domain Provider GoDaddy Acquires Domain Registration Company Uniregistry
Web host and domain provider GoDaddy has acquired domain registration company Uniregistry. A global brand with headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, United States, GoDaddy has close to 20 million customers worldwide. The company has a localization policy that sees it have a business presence in numerous countries around the world and able to provide support services in local languages. The broad range of options it provides include WooCommerce and WordPress solutions designed to enable users to create a viable web presence on cost-effective terms. Alongside its hosting options, GoDaddy is one of the world’s biggest domain name providers. Financial aspects of its Uniregistry acquisition are yet to be released.

Uniregistry, which has registered headquarters in George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, was established in 2011. The company offers a “new way of buying, managing, and selling domain names,” and provides a number of domain registration services including the sale of gTLD's and ccTLDs. The company also caters to a reseller network. Its flagship service is an “award-winning premium domain brokerage service”. GoDaddy’s acquisition does not include Uniregistry’s top level domain name activity. The company’s Grand Cayman and Manchester offices will remain in operation.

"Uniregistry is unique in that domain investors built it from the ground up so their products and services have always catered to the domain investor community," suggested Paul Nicks, the Vice President of GoDaddy. "This acquisition reinforces GoDaddy's commitment to domain investors. Combining Uniregistry's solutions and incredible knowledge with our platform will help investors succeed and advance future innovations for them. We can't wait to get started."

"One of the mantras we repeat around the Uniregistry office is that we dream about building a company of permanence and value,” added Frank Schilling, the CEO of Uniregistry. “When I started speaking with GoDaddy, it became clear how passionate we both are about our customers and this industry. I realized the best way to fulfill our mantras and dreams was to join with Godaddy. I'm so proud of the team we've put together. It is incredibly rewarding to give them the opportunity to scale our solutions with GoDaddy's customers. The years ahead will truly be awesome!"
