Web host and domain registration provider VentraIP Australia (
VentraIP) has acquired Internet and voice services provider Summit Internet. VentraIP, which has headquarters in the Australian state of Victoria, was established in 2008. The company offers a range of services including web hosting, reseller hosting, Virtual Private Server (VPS) options, email hosting and related business services. The company is also an ICANN accredited domain registrar. The acquisition of Summit Internet will see around 1,000 services transferred to VentraIP.
Summit Internet has headquarters in Melbourne, Australia and was established in 2001. The company offers its reseller and wholesale programs to IT companies, providing a range of data center services, cloud options, Internet and data solutions alongside telecommunications services and voice solutions. Financial aspects of the deal were not released, but it was indicated that Summit Internet would continue to provide its current range of services.
“It has been clear for a few years that they are leading the way for shared hosting and domain names in Australia. It is their core business and they are the best at it,” explained Greg Lipschitz, Chief Executive Officer and Founder and of Summit Internet. “We want to ensure that our customers have the best service and experience possible. Our core focus is on our data and voice products, including expanding our carrier fixed wireless network Australia wide. Knowing that VentraIP Australia are looking after the shared hosting gives us the time to focus on what we’re best at.”
News of the acquisition comes one the heels of VentraIP’s acquisition of three companies last month - SpiderWeb Hosting, On A Cloud, and Boot Domains.
