AYKsolutions has announced it is now accepting Bitcoin payments for its entire range of services. Established in 2004, AYKsolutions, which has headquarters in Albany, New York, USA, offers a wide range of hosting products and services including shared, Virtual Private Server (VPS), cloud and “dedicated unmetered” hosting. AYKsolutions joins a long list of web hosts that now allow customers to pay using the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. The news comes as part of the company’s efforts to “maintain the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction” and is “in response to several customer requests”.
Established in 2009, Bitcoin is a “peer-to-peer” payment method that does not require banks of any other parties to act as intermediaries. With no third party charges, Bitcoin has “lower transactional fees than other payment processing services” and is enjoying significant growth globally. Bitcoins are valued based on a range of mathematical formulas with 1 Bitcoin equaling roughly $395 at the time of going to press. The value of Bitcoin peaked in December 2013, reaching $1,100 per coin. While it is now moving towards being mainstream (with companies like PayPal and Microsoft using the Bitcoin service), Bitcoin has had problems in the past. Bitcoin provider MtGox collapsed In February 2014 causing numerous Bitcoin owners to lose millions of dollars worth of currency.
"We have been getting a lot of requests from our clients to make payments with Bitcoin recently,” explained AYKsolutions’ President, Artyom Khmelnitsky. “Since our goal is to better serve our clients, we have now incorporated this new payment method to go along with our already established ones that include Paypal, credit cards and wire transfer."
