Datarealm has announced the launch of Solid State Drive (SSD) shared hosting options. The company, which was established in 1995, offers a range of services alongside shared hosting. These include Virtual Private Server (VPS), dedicated server offerings and an “advanced secure cloud hosting platform”. Its SSD options are intended to improve the performance of its shared hosting offerings.
Solid state drives have no moving parts, and are therefore significantly faster than the ‘spinning-disk’ type hard drives that are more traditionally available in shared hosting options. As a result, reading and writing data is faster and websites hosted on SSD servers benefit from faster loading times and improved performance. This translates into a better user experience for website visitors.
Datarealm's SSD shared hosting options offer an “expansive range of features” including “a comprehensive range of development tools that include PHP, Perl, Python, and many more”. In addition, customers benefit from “one-click installation” of a range of software including eCommerce and WordPress. The company is offering a number of SSD options, ranging from ‘Basic’ shared hosting accounts that provide 10GB of SSD storage, 1TB of bandwidth, and unlimited databases, up to ‘Elite’ accounts that offer 50GB of SSD storage and unlimited bandwidth.
