Web host Fasthosts Internet Ltd.
(Fasthosts) has announced its launch of a new Virtual Private Server (VPS) range in the United Kingdom. Fasthosts, which has head offices in Gloucester, United Kingdom, was established in 1999. The company delivers “market-leading online services to the home, home office, and SME markets” using a high caliber, 100% secure platform. Alongside VPS its options extend to dedicated servers, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) options, more traditional web and reseller hosting, and storage options. The new range underscores Fasthosts’ continued growth.
VPS allows users to “have full control over their environment”, allowing them to change software and applications as required. Unlike shared hosting, VPS offers allocated resources that are not available to other users. VPS is particularly useful for people with websites that are too large for conventional hosting, or users with multiple websites. Fasthosts’ platform is built on SSD technology making it faster and more economical than servers using standard ‘spinning-disk’ disk drives. Additionally, Fasthosts’ services allow users to use Plesk control panels with their VPS accounts to provide a “clean, easy-to-use web interface”.
News of the new range comes in the wake of the company recently offering new bare metal servers and a new WordPress hosting package. “Fasthosts is incredibly proud to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year,” explained a company press release. “We are unique in that all of our Virtual Private Servers are located in Gloucestershire, with data held locally and staff on site at all times. It’s reassuring to tell people that their data never leaves our shores, it’s safe and secure at our HQ in Gloucester.”Do you know of any other companies launching new VPS options?
