Web Host Go Daddy and Menu Management Company Locu Launch Restaurant Websites
Web host and domain name provider Go Daddy and menu management company Locu have joined forces to launch mobile-friendly, restaurant-focused websites.

The move is a response to data that suggests that while 80% of people believe a restaurant website should have an online menu, only around 4 in 10 restaurant websites actually do so. The aim of the initiative is to enable restaurants to "leverage the power of the Internet" through Go Daddy's easy to use Website Builder (which provides access to hundreds of fully customizable website designs) and Locu's menu manager (which allows restaurants to effortlessly update their menus).

Locu's menu-management system preloads hundreds of thousands of menus from restaurants across the United States into a database. Restaurants can claim a menu and change prices, descriptions and add photos. New restaurants can provide a document, pdf or image of a menu, which is then converted into an SEO-friendly online menu which restaurants can print and make changes to on an as needed basis. All content Locu provides is accessible via mobile devices. Locu menus are published on websites and mobile apps across the company's partner network. These partners include OpenTable, Foursquare and Citysearch. Locu's premium plan customers can automatically access websites like Yelp, Facebook and TripAdvisor.

"Restaurants have an ever-changing menu and they need a website that can easily keep up," explained Blake Irving, CEO of Go Daddy. "Website Builder with Locu was specifically designed for ease-of-use and versatility - giving restaurants complete control of their identity and menu without wasting time. Go Daddy is doing whatever it takes to help our customers cross the digital divide to take advantage of technology previously only available to the big guys."
