February 14, 2009 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Displaying a curiously broad marketing strategy, which recently has included risqué Super Bowl advertisements alongside helping Arizona’s Homeless Youth, web host Go Daddy is to sponsor NBC's National Heads-Up Poker Championship, it was reported recently. The championship, which takes place in Las Vegas, USA, March 6-8, 2009, brings together sixty four top poker players, who will compete for $1.5 million prize money. The event will be broadcast on US TV channel, NBC. The winner receives $500,000 with the runner up receiving $250,000.

"The popularity of poker has grown thanks in large part to television and the Internet," explained Bob Parsons, CEO and Founder of Go Daddy. "Being an industry leader for domain names and websites, we only sponsor the most exciting events. NBC and Caesars Palace are assembling a top-notch tournament with world-class players and I look forward to seeing some great action."

"The National Heads-Up Championship's exciting and unique one-on-one format creates the most compelling poker action anywhere," added NBC Sports’ Executive Vice President, Jon Miller. "We've got another great lineup of talent for our fifth season, which will provide fans with the kind of riveting match-ups they have come to expect from our tournament."
