Layered Technologies, Inc. (Layered Tech), a leading worldwide provider of on-demand IT infrastructure, has been named a 2009 InfoWorld 100 Award winner for its automated server provisioning platform, called “Astro,” which delivers added operational efficiency and frees up staff to focus more time serving unique customer needs and developing new and advanced service offerings. The Astro platform integrates back-end processes with customer-facing systems to deliver added flexibility to customers, while reducing the server provisioning process to approximately 30 minutes, down from the industry standard of 48 to 72 hours.
The InfoWorld 100 Awards annually recognize the 100 most innovative uses of IT initiatives to further business goals.
IDG’s InfoWorld selects winners based on the technology’s excellence and quality, as well as its ability to enhance the company’s business strategies. To qualify, IT projects had to be internal and completed during 2009. AT&T, Cisco Systems and Dell were also included on InfoWorld’s list this year.
