Web host Multacom Corporation (Multacom) has once again been awarded Service Organization Controls 2 Report (SOC 2) Type 2 after completing an annual compliance audit. Multacom, which has head offices and data centers in Los Angeles, California, United States, was established in 1997. The company offers a broad range of services alongside traditional web hosting. These include colocation and dedicated servers, private and hybrid clouds, bandwidth, IP services, VPN, and a suite of managed hosting services. In achieving SOC 2 the company exceeded the strict data center controls required by the certification.
SOC 2 covers data center protection against “unauthorized physical and remote access”. The certification ensures the integrity of a data center by meeting authorization requirements that ensure any confidential information the center houses is protected. SOC 2 has “a very exacting evaluation procedure” which must be competed by third-party accountants and auditors. Multacom’s assessment report showed that “no exceptions were noted”, underscoring its “continued commitment to maintaining stringent security controls and processes across all client networks”. This is commitment is further underscored by its workforce, in which “every team member has a minimum of seven years of experience and is certified in their field”.
“Businesses must adapt to evolving cyber threats and regulatory requirement by continually implementing greater IT security and availability measures,” explained Multacom’s CEO, Kiarash Jahangiri. “This SOC 2 Type 2 report demonstrates our continued commitment to keeping our customers compliant with regulations like PCI and HIPAA and safeguarding their data and IT infrastructure. We are not only proud of our team’s efforts in achieving SOC 2 compliance annually but exceeding its rigorous requirements with no exceptions noted.”
