Web Host OpenHost Announces Virtuozzo Availabilty

September 30, 2005
September 30, 2005 - (HOSTSEARCH.COM) - Auckland-based web host and Virtual Server Provider OpenHost has announced it is making SWsoft’s Virtuozzo for Linux and Virtuozzo for Windows available to customers. Virtuozzo creates multiple virtual private servers (VPSs) on a single server and enables each VPS to perform as though it were a standalone server. "By offering Windows and Linux VPSs, we are paving the way for a new paradigm in the way Internet applications and web sites are hosted." said Aaron Sinclair, director of OpenHost. "Until today, the majority of web sites have been served from a shared hosting environment or a dedicated server. The disadvantage of a shared hosting environment is highlighted in the limited ability to customize the OS environment, such as file permissions and database management and the risk of malicious acts from other shared hosting accounts.“ Sinclair continued, “The restrictive cost of a dedicated server has left this option available only to the larger corporate entities. But now with the release of our VPS's anyone can have a dedicated virtual private server for a little over $30.00 a month." Virtuozzo is utilized for a range of offerings including: VPS, Dynamic Server, Dynamic Dedicated Server, Split Dedicated, Split Shared and Advanced Shared.
