Web Hosting and Wiki Website Builder Wetpaint Raises Second Round of Venture Funding

January 18, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting and wiki website builder Wetpaint (http://www.wetpaint.com) has raised a second round of venture funding, the company announced recently. According to the company, it has raised $9.5 million from venturists Accel Partners. The funding will enable the company to expand its advertising revenue generating offering.

Wetpaint provides total solutions for those interested in building wiki-based web sites.
The company's service enables users to build their own websites without programming knowledge. To date, Wetpaint has built 150,000 wiki sites since its launch in 2006.

"Wetpaint sites increase user engagement and let advertisers connect directly with the most motivated and influential audiences in their target markets," explained Theresia Gouw Ranzetta of Accel Partners.

Wetpaint is one of a number of similar websites that emerged over the past two years. JotSpot, another wiki-builder, was acquired by Google last year.
