Web hosting company BlackSun Inc. (BlackSun) has launched ‘
BlackShield’, a new Web Security-as-a-Service (WSAAS) solution. BlackSun, which has headquarters in Saskatchewan, Canada, was established in 1998. The company offers a wide range of services including web hosting, domain name registration, ecommerce, colocation, and email solutions. By launching the BlackShield platform the company offers customers “protection from multiple attack vectors”.
The BlackShield website security platform allows subscribers to “monitor, repair and restore the condition of their website and data monitor, repair and restore the condition of their website and data”. It offers broad protection from “direct hacks to reputation compromises”. BlackShield negates the methods used to crack insecure code and defends against DDoS attacks, SQL injection, malicious web bots and brute force attacks. Alongside protecting from blocking attacks the platform continuously scans for malware. It recognizes issues by “monitoring alterations to website code and file structure”, notifying website owners of unauthorized access.
“BlackSun is excited to offer these additional tools and packages to protect against insecure code that may exist inside various customer websites,” explained BlackSun’s CEO, Steve Rogoschewsky. “Over the years, we have included various forms of technologies to harden our environment which include many hardware and software solutions to detect and mitigate various threats.
